Carrie Penn
Musical Director & Composer
Carrie is a third-year music student at St. Anne’s and an avid composer and musical director. She enjoys composing in a range of styles and has written music for productions of The Pillowman (Pilch, HT20), The Extraordinary Pilgrimage of St Anne (BT, MT19), Old Fashioned (BT, HT20), Constellations (sadly cancelled due to Covid) and Macbeth, as well as for several student films. She has experience working as the Musical Director for Life of Galileo (Keble O'Reilly, MT19) and as Assistant Musical Director for Shadows of Troy (Oxford Playhouse, HT20) and the Oxford Opera Society's Opera Scenes Concert (HT20), as well as having worked as the Musical Director for The Parish Church of the Ascension. For the past year she has been working as the composer for the new musical, Persephone, and has spent the last few months running a series of workshop rehearsals to further develop the musical material. She is also the current president of the St Anne’s College Music Society.
Carrie has also achieved DipLCM, ATCL and LTCL (distinction) diplomas in violin performance.
